The indicators of the Mediterranean Wetlands Observatory

A list of 25 indicators covering 4 themes has been defined in 2010. Seventeen of them have been analysed and measured in 2010-2012 in the framework of the publishing of the 1st technical report "Mediterranean Wetlands Outlook" and its synthesis dedicated to decision makers including the 19 factsheets.

1st theme: integrity of biodiversity and ecosystems

• 7 indicators (including 6 measured by the MWO)

2nd theme: causes of change

• 5 indicators (including 4 measured by the MWO)

3rd theme: impacts and benefits

• 4 indicators measured by the MWO

4th theme: responses: taking wetlands into account in sustainable development

• 9 indicators (including 4 measured by the MWO)
